#2000-2 Kit, Atmosphere in Crisis.
This kit presents information relating to the
characteristics of the air, the atmosphere, and how these are affected
by pollutants. It demonstrates the principles of absorption and the
effects of air pollution on such common things as plants and metals.
Air pollutants are created and treated, thus enabling the students to see
and understand the causes and effects of air pollution and the necessity
and means for control. Classroom activities include:
temperature inversion, the creation of two air pollutants, treatments of
air pollutants, and the effects of air pollution. All apparatus,
chemicals, ten 35mm slides, seven overhead transparency masters, and teacher's
manual are supplied to perform various experiments.

health and economic consequences of environmental pollution. The
lecture materials contain discussions of chemical composition of fresh
air and water, pollutants of the environment, consequences of environmental
pollution and treatment and control of pollution. Classroom activities
are separated into two categories: air and water pollution.
Fifteen activities are performed; five dealing with air pollution and ten
dealing with water pollution. The water pollution activities include:
Determination of dissolved oxygen, addition of oxygen by aeration and by
photosynthesis, removal of oxygen by heating, by respiration and by chemical
activity, relationship between bacteria and oxygen, sewage and plant nutrients,
treatment of chemical wastes, mine acid pollutants and their effects on
fish. The air pollution activities include: temperature inversion,
the creation of two air pollutants, the effect of air pollution on various
materials, and treatments for air pollution. Also includes 19 transparency
masters, 47-35mm slides and manual.

#2000-10 Kit, Environmental Student Test
Lab.
Ten different tests of the air and water around
us can be performed with the Environmental Student Test Lab. Your
students will be interested to know that their experiments duplicate those
actually carried out by state and federal agencies. Five water tests
look for dissolved oxygen, hardness, chloride, phosphate, and pH.
The kit also gives you four air tests for suspended particles, smoke density,
concentration of chemicals, and carbon dioxide. These test are easy
to do and produce clear, visible results. Many of the tests give
or estimate quantitive results. The kit includes 8 test chemicals,
test equipment, two charts, and a reproducible laboratory manual.
This kit is an excellent introduction to air and water evaluation.

Of particular interest in this kit are the structures of the eye and the
mechanisms of sight. Each kit contains 18-35mm slides, a plastic
mounted cross section of the eye, and an excellent teachers manual with
test questions and suggested student projects.
#2000-19 Kit, Noise Pollution.
Students will use this kit to hear how it would
sound to have different ranges of hearing loss, diagram and label ear anatomy,
define and measure noise pollution. Some of the optics illustrated
and described in the kit include: Anatomy of the ear, transmission
of sound; measurement of noise; effect of noise on the individual and the
community and methods of controlling noise pollution. The kit includes
14-35mm slides, a special prepared audio cassette tape which allows students
